The basic courses are as follows:
– This course is film and teaching instructions (will not be doing any hand-on diamond polishing process) but if time permits, I may demonstrate some polishing skill if I can (it depends on the progress of the course)
– Start: Introducing the formation process of natural and cultured (lab grown) diamond rough,
– How to use the computer to analyses and estimate the size, shape and weight of the finished product,
– After the computer guessing/estimation is completed, the cutting stage begins, introducing the old copper sheet cutting tools and the new laser cutting method and process.
– How to use a bevel rough grinder to grind the girdle and pavilion corners of the rough.
– After the rough shape of the diamond is formed, we will introduce the general diamond polishing tools: including table, corner and bevel.
– Once the product is completed, I will show you how to use the instrument to check the result such as GIA (Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent Cut) standard.
– Final: An introduction to the 4Cs of diamond grading and how to shop for a perfect diamond with your basic knowledge,
– This course hopes to enhance your understanding of every stage of diamond, from the rough stone formation to finished product, and to appreciate its true meaning,
– If you want to be understanding more of diamond polishing technology, you can follow up my next subsequent Diamond Cutting/Polishing Beginner Class.
